Free CUNY Zine call for submissions for first issue, due May 4

Earlier this week, a call went out for submissions to The Free CUNY,  a student-authored, student-edited CUNY-wide publication, which will disseminate news and opinions relevant to the CUNY community. According to the zine’s Facebook page, the purpose of this publication is to spread awareness about the struggle for a free, accessible, and democratic education at CUNY as well as the global student movement.
The submission call is below.

We call on all CUNY student writers to submit articles for the first edition of our periodical. Its theme is “Get Ready to Graduate” in preparation for our May 18th Get Ready to Graduate Action. We ask that all articles be focused on the limited opportunities available for high school and CUNY students after graduation:

Submissions should be 300-500 words on the following topics:

• The School to Prison Pipeline, Austerity, Military Recruitment, Deportation, Unemployment,
Homelessness, etc.
• Arts Section including: Poems (or song lyrics!), Cartoons, Artwork,
• Music/ Movie/Book Review: Reviews for left-wing, societal documentaries, movies, music
and literature.

The Deadline for all articles is May 4th at Midnight.
